Heriot-Watt University (HWU) is a research-led university specialising in science and engineering, business and management, languages and design. Staff working on this project belong to the Nano Safety Research Group (NSRG) hosted within the Institutes of Life and Earth Sciences (ILES; https://www.hw.ac.uk/uk/schools/energy-geoscience-infrastructure-society/research/iles.htm) and Biological Chemistry, Biophysics and Bioengineering.

Role in the project:

HWU will act as WP4 Leader and will participate to WP1 and WP2. In WP4 HWU will lead the development and testing of the hypotheses for grouping of MCNMs. In WP2 HWU will perform human and environmental in vitro experiments with modified MCNMs to test the effectiveness of the respective S&SbD strategies. HWU will also participate to the stakeholder engagement, dissemination and exploitation activities of the project (WP8).
