The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)

The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the oldest and most prestigious educational institution of Greece in the field of technology and has contributed unceasingly to the country's development since its foundation in 1836. The NTUA team (R-NANO, Unit: http://nanolab.chemeng.ntua.gr/) comprises chemical, mechanical, materials engineers, physicists, chemists and technicians specialized in the fields of materials research and development, possessing a very experienced staff (including professors, research scientists and PhD students) as well as extensive facilities for materials synthesis, processing, characterization and computational modelling.

Role in the project:

Based on expertise and experience gained in several EU projects dealing with nanotechnologies, advanced materials, and biotechnology, NTUA will contribute to WP3 of SUNSHINE materials and QSAR modelling activities to predict unique properties and interactions of the MCNMs and their toxicity, with a focus on mixture toxicity, as well as PBPK modelling to support in vitro-in vivo extrapolations of data for SbD purposes.
